Air Conditioner Tips

An air conditioner is an outdoor unit that cools air, and send it into the indoor unit, which then circulates it throughout the home.
Your indoor and outdoor units are designed to work together, and when the two units are properly matched, you'll get maximum efficiency and a longer system life.
Air Conditioner Energy-Saving Tips
Keep your AC on low at night
Turn your AC down at night when your body temperature drops, and you're not moving around as much because you're sleeping.
Close off strategic vents
Since your basement and the lower levels of your house will stay cooler than upstairs, try closing off some (or all) of the vents downstair. this will force more cool air upstairs, keeping the house more consistently cool.
Check your ducts
Making sure that the areas where your ducts run through that are not air conditioned (like the attic) are well insulated will help keep your air cooler.
Rearrange the furniture
If your furniture obstructs your vents, it could mean that the back of your chair or sofa gets much cooler than you do. Try a new furniture configuration, and you may find you don't have to turn your AC up quite so high.
Keep your AC on low when you're not home
Shut your windows and drapes while your out, and adjust your AC to a warmer temperature setting while you're away from home. Things will cool back down in no time after you turn the temperature back down when you get home.
Have your unit serviced regularly
Regular maintenance is important when it comes to keeping it running efficiently. It may also save you money on costly repairs in the long term.
